Rent Free

This special limited edition slipcover (designed by Steak Mtn) is limited to 500 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them. Launched by Ray Murray, founder of TLA Releasing and Artsploitation Films, Cinephobia Releasing is dedicated to presenting the most eye-opening genre and LGBTQ+ movies from around the world. The label is admittedly schizophrenic: offering both controversial, often sexually provocative dramas, edgy thrillers and uncompromising horror while also showcasing some of the best LGBTQ+ romances and dramas. Expect the unexpected. Best friends since childhood, Ben and Jordan are two young men living in a rapidly changing Austin, where they navigate low-paying jobs, fraught relationships, and their own emotionally codependent friendship. When they suddenly lose their apartment, they come up with a last-ditch plan to spend the rest of the year “rent free”. They set out on a tragicomic journey across the couches, floors and guest rooms of their friends while desperately trying to save up enough money to leave behind a city they no longer recognize and flee for the promised land of New York City.  Made with a satirical bent and an ensemble cast, RENT FREE is a high-anxiety comedy about a generation on the edge, as well as a poignant exploration of male friendship and a city in flux. directed by: Fernando Andrés starring: Jacob Roberts, David Treviño, Molly Edelman, Zeke Goodman, Sarah J.
