At 7.68" overall, the ORCAJYD is an ideal size for an EDC titanium folding knife. Is M390 good knife steel?Yes — the Remette RT-Orca ORCAJYD uses Bohler M390, a high-end powder-metallurgy stainless steel prized for outstanding edge retention and high corrosion resistance. The ORCAJYD adds a DLC coating over the pearlescent ground finish for a dark, wear-resistant blade. What handle material does the Remette RT-Orca ORCAJYD have? The Remette RT-Orca ORCAJYD features a titanium-plated handle with a Jazzy CamoCarbon carbon fiber inlay — lightweight, rigid, and highly corrosion resistant, with a one-of-a-kind camo carbon pattern on every knife. What is CamoCarbon?CamoCarbon is a very high quality, USA-made camouflage-pattern material produced from aerospace-grade carbon fiber. It's made under high heat and vacuum pressure, resulting in a tough, strong fabrication material — and every sheet's pattern is unique, so no two knives share the same camo carbon fiber pattern. The Jazzy CamoCarbon inlay on the Remette RT-Orca ORCAJYD is genuine CamoCarbon. What is a button frame lock? The Remette RT-Orca ORCAJYD locks up with a button frame lock, a newer hybrid design that adds a push-button release to a traditional titanium frame lock. When the blade opens, a section of the handle frame springs inward and seats against the blade tang, holding it open with the strength frame locks are known for. To close the ORCAJYD, just press the button — it cams the lock bar clear of the tang so the blade drops freely. Because your thumb works a button on the handle instead of pushing a lock bar aside in the blade's path, closing is safer, easier one-handed, and satisfyingly smooth. What is the difference between the ORCAJYD and the ORCAJY?The Remette RT-Orca ORCAJYD is the DLC-blade version of the RT-Orca with Jazzy CamoCarbon: its M390 blade wears a dark DLC coating and its handle has a titanium-plated finish, while the ORCAJY has an uncoated pearlescent blade with a ceramic-sandblasted handle.
