The real difference comes down to the cover. The Relief Wave helps protect against allergy build-up in your mattress by stopping dust, pet dander, pests, and other common household allergens before they can penetrate into the foam. The Classic Wave has a 100% cotton cover, which offers less allergen protection but is just as comfortable. ▸Do I need sheets? Can I use the bedside sleeper mattress without sheets? If you want to use the mattress cover in the same way you’d use sheets, you can. But sheets provide an additional layer of cotton protection, and make it easier to take care of leaky diapers without needing to give your mattress cover and foam core a wash. If you do decide that using just the mattress cover (instead of sheets) is what works best for your family, we recommend getting extra sets so you don’t have to worry about frequent washing. You can get extra sets of the Relief Wave Mattress Pad cover here. ▸Is the cover on this baby mattress water resistant? No, it is not. Our Dry Comfort Mattress Protector is water-resistant, goes right on top of your Relief Wave Mattress Pad cover, and helps prevent leakage from sinking into your mattress. We recommend using it as an extra protective layer if water resistance for your crib mattress is a concern.▸Does this baby mattress fit pre-2020 babybay models? No, it does not.▸Does this baby mattress fit other bedside sleepers that aren’t babybay?Nope! The Relief Wave Mattress Pad is specially designed to fit the hug-like curve of babybay sleeper cribs. ▸I love the mattress cover! Can I get extra? You’re not alone! Many families choose to get extra covers for their Relief Wave Mattress Pad so they can easily throw things in the wash and keep their little one’s sleep space always-clean.
