The headstall ring aligns the mouthpiece at a pleasing angle in the horse's mouth and prevents downward rotation of the mouthpiece when rein pressure is applied. Comparable to an English Kimberwicke without the leverage element. The 3-Piece Sweet Iron Snaffle with Copper Roller is a great choice for the nervous or busy mouthed horse. The mix of sweet iron and copper promotes salivation and combined with the overall design encourages relation of the jaw. This bit applies pressure to the horse's cheek on the opposite side of the face from your engaged rein, encouraging better flexion.
