Regal 200EXT Recirculating Protein Skimmer

The Reef Octopus Regal 200-EXT Recirculating Protein Skimmer takes the 400-gallon-rated Regal 200 platform external, recirculating water through the VarioS-4S DC pump outside the sump for extended air/water contact time. That typically means drier, more concentrated skimmate than an equivalent in-sump body delivers. Capacity: up to 400 gallons Setup: external, recirculating — mounts next to (not inside) the sump Pump: VarioS-4S variable-speed pinwheel pump, 24V, 5 power settings Control features: float switch input, 15/60-minute feed-pause modes, 0-10V third-party controller input Recirculating designs like this ask for more plumbing footprint next to the sump in exchange for stronger export efficiency — a common upgrade path for aquarists outgrowing an in-sump Regal or Classic model. Compatible replacement parts: VarioS-4S pump kits sized for the Regal 200 series.
