KYTE Loudspeaker Become immersed in the stunningly natural sound of the Kyte loudspeakers system. Meticulously designed to deliver the true Rega sound at an affordable price. Using our own ZRR high frequency unit and a handmade pair of Rega MX-125 bass-mid drivers, this compact bookshelf speaker is designed to complement any hi-fi or audio system.     Experience Rega Experience the true voice of Rega components with the all new Kyte loudspeaker system. The Kytes are meticulously hand assembled in house using our unique design phenolic resin cabinet. Internally they feature ceramic plates and carefully engineered cross bracing developed to make the cabinet extremely stiff. This prevents unwanted resonances interfering with the accurate output of the drive units and directly improves both dynamics and the bass performance from the speaker. The Kytes are easy to position and are supplied with an optional foot to allow for various positioning giving the user greater flexibility. A custom designed stand mount adaptor is available (sold separately) to allow use on a wide variety of third party stands.   KEY FEATURES Custom designed phenolic resin cabinets Unique ceramic plate & cross brace construction Handmade MX-125 bass-mid unit Rega designed ZRR high frequency unit Bass reflex design, rear ported UK designed and manufactured Stand mount adaptor available (sold separately) Lifetime warranty against manufacture defects   Rega fans out there will know that we have always questioned the marketing and science surrounding turntables. Experiments and research have allowed us to debunk most commonly held beliefs and use real engineering to produce world beating sound quality at sensible prices. However, the loudspeaker market is very different because a valid scientific and engineering discipline exists which in turn has created hundreds of competitors in the loudspeaker marketplace. The success of many loudspeakers depends on powerful marketing, eye watering advertising budgets (of which Rega spends zero) and financial inducement to retailers. The funds that most loudspeaker companies would spend on marketing Rega has put it all in to research and develop to achieve a totally unique cabinet constructions and our own high frequency unit and bass/midrange driver (incorporating a four layer voice coil). We even manufacture and wind our crossover components in house. So why phenolic? Historically the accepted perception of a loudspeaker was a rectangular shaped wood veneered cabinet to compliment household wood furniture. The market has always demanded loudspeakers to be furniture and since the 90’s European manufacturers were left with the choice of Far Eastern manufacturing or inflated prices for home built wooden cabinets. However, recent times have seen the world change styling perceptions and there has been a wholesale investment in modern moulding shapes and the use of functional materials. Injection moulded plastic loudspeaker cabinets are not new but flexible moulded plastic has been reserved for the PA world or small desktop loudspeakers where convenience and portability were a priority over sonic performance. This more recent domestic acceptance of non-wood functional cabinet shapes has allowed Rega to achieve a long term dream. We have made a massive investment into injection moulding of stiff thermoset phenolic resin and collaborated with British company to achieve it. The natural stiffness of phenolic resin is a big advantage which has been further enhanced with ceramic plates and a complex internal cross brace structure. This unique cabinet constructions has been achieved at one third of the price of other British made quality loudspeakers.   REVIEW & AWARDS REVIEW – The Rega Kyte Speakers - Read More "Normally we don’t do this kind of thing, but with mid – October only six weeks away, we’ll let you in on a secret. We will be awarding the Kytes our Budget Product of the Year Award in issue 109. They are more than just an exceptional value. If I were starting my hifi journey again from scratch, I’d buy a pair in a heartbeat. I may buy a pair anyway, just because they are so damn cool."   Flying with Rega Kyte speakers - Read More "The Rega Kyte’s aesthetics will inevitably be as significant a factor in their popularity as their sonic capabilities and it will be interesting to see how well a public that loves shiny boxes will take to their matte finish. However the Kyte is a capable speaker that can bring out the emotional intent and musical skills of pretty much everything you play, add in Rega’s unique lifetime guarantee and they look like excellent value to us." - Jason Kennedy   DU VERDEN FOR EN MELLOMTONE - Read More "It's easy to find something to brag about with this speaker, and actually a lot and almost give in with excitement about it. If you play pop, jazz and show with a solid mix of electronic and acoustic instruments, you may be surprised that your stereo system does not need to cost more than NOK 12-13,000 to sound outstanding. The speaker plays balanced, open, incredibly clear and open in the midrange, has a well-integrated treble that could certainly have more energy, and a bass that is a little careful, but no more than others in the same price range. Summen is a speaker that seems very "quiet" with an incredibly low degree of inherent sound or coloration, and with a clarity that lets you right into the heart of the music. " - Håvard Holmedal   Rega’s new Kyte speakers fly high - Read More "Whether paired with their Rega io sibling amplifier to form two-thirds of Rega’s System 1 or in concert with a low-powered tube amp or sources way above their price point, the Kytes really sing well. They have a knack for causing the listener to just forget the audio niceties and get into enjoying the musical performance. Loudpeakers are the most subjective of all components one selects and the Kytes are in a very competitive price category where the likes of Elac, PSB and Monitor Audio, among others, have highly regarded entrants. Based on the strength of their performance during the time I had with them, I don’t believe anyone should want to omit the Kytes from their audition shortlist. I am happy to give these loudpeakers a very enthusiastic recommendation." - LIM JUAN   Rega Research Kyte 2-Way Bookshelf Loudspeaker: The Audiophile System Builder - Read More "Anyone who tries to convince you that Rega can’t design great sounding loudspeakers — can really go and just fly a Kyte " - Ian White   Rega System One Review - Read More "I have spent parts of December 2021 with the Vertere MG-1 MkII - a device I liked so much, I went off the financial deep end to buy it - sat mute and inert because there was no compelling reason at that moment to stop listening to the System One. I don’t think I can give anything much more praise than that. And do you want to know something truly magical? The full effect of what the System One can do is diluted for me by twenty years of my messing about with audio equipment and being privileged enough to experience devices like the Planar 10 and the MG-1. For many owners, where this is the first time they’ve owned anything like this, that experience is going to be more glorious and visceral than I will ever know and I’m honestly a little jealous of that. This is a Hi-Fi experience like very little else anywhere near its price point and it is an indisputable Best Buy. " - Ed Selley   Rega System One review - Read More "Aesthetically it’s basic, but this Rega system is greater than the sum of its parts " - What Hi-Fi?   REVIEW REGA SYSTEM ONE: KYTE SPEAKERS WITH PLANAR 1 AND IO - Read More "The IO amplifier is slightly warm-blooded and easily drives larger speakers. The combination with my Audiovector R3 Arreté speakers in the large room went surprisingly well. The Planar 1 turntable is a piece of candy, perfect for the novice plug & play vinyl enthusiast, and easy to upgrade for an advanced listener. Rhythmic and swinging in character with the pleasant analogue reproduction. It's that I don't have the funds otherwise this Kyte One combination would have been given permanent residence status in my attic room!
