Refuas Halev

A new translation and elaboration of Shaar HaBitachon of the Chovos HaLevavos “When I thought Hashem had lost interest in me, He was, in fact, watching over me and taking care of me... I was reminded once again that even when we fear that Hashem has turned away from us, we are wrong.” For many, Chovos HaLevavos is a sefer learned in yeshivah or seminary and then put down for the foreseeable future. With its cumbersome language, the thousand-year-old text seems far removed from our twenty-first century lives. Yet Shaar HaBitachon is as relevant today as it was when it was first written. In his approachable new translation and commentary, world-renowned author and lecturer Rabbi Yehudah Yonah Rubinstein opens our eyes to Rabbeinu Bachya’s classic presentation, rendering it readily accessible to our contemporary world. With his engaging, personal tone, Rabbi Rubinstein offers insights into the words of our gedolim and provides answers to the deepest questions a Jew has. This work is replete with timely stories and examples that reveal the enduring truths of our existence.
