Reflux - Mucosal Support combines the soothing powers of prickly pear cactus, olive leaves, and slippery elm to support healthy stomach and intestinal linings to help with occasional heartburn, reflux, nausea, bloating, gas, indigestion, burping, and stomach discomfort. Please note ingredients are strong and may taste bitter.* Reflux - Mucosal Support for Acid Issues* Acid reflux is a digestive disorder that occurs when stomach acid gets pushed back up into the esophagus. Heartburn is the burning sensation that is felt with acid reflux. And while the two terms are often used interchangeably, heartburn is technically a symptom of acid reflux. Though many believe the cause of acid reflux is too much stomach acid, the last decade of research paints a different story. The root causes of reflux can be boiled down to stress, poor barrier function, low stomach acid, and dysbiosis in the digestive tract. Stress and dysbiosis can trigger a  domino effect resulting in mucosal degradation, and a weakening of protective structures like the lower esophageal sphincter. Reflux Mucosal Support combines the soothing powers of slippery elm, prickly pear, and olive leaves to support a healthy gastric mucosa, soothe intestinal issues, and support microbial balance.* Reflux Mucosal Support is a lightly flavored drink powder designed to help relieve occasional heartburn, nausea, bloating, and indigestion.* What is in Reflux - Mucosal Support? Reflux - Mucosal Support contains a very unique and rare blend of prickly pear polysaccharides and olive leaf polyphenols sourced out of the most southern parts of Europe. The ingredients work synergistically to support the mucosal barrier in the stomach and esophagus, help soothe gastrointestinal issues, help provide antioxidants for cellular health, support cellular regeneration, and help increase the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.* Mucosave™ FG: Mucosave™ FG is a blend of prickly pear polysaccharides and olive leaf polyphenols that works synergistically to help support the mucosal lining of the digestive tract, help calm the digestive process, and support a favorable balance of gut bacteria.* Cladodes, flattened leaf-like stems, of the prickly pear cactus contain polysaccharides with gastro and mucosal protective properties.* The polysaccharides found in prickly pear cladodes help form a mucoprotective gel-like substance that coats the mucosal barrier and adheres very effectively to the intestinal wall in a process known as mucoadhesion.* This protective coating is being explored as a more effective drug delivery format because it slows down the absorption process and may give nutrients or medications more time to be properly absorbed.* Olive leaves and their extracts have been used in traditional medicine for a variety of health concerns. Olive leaves contain many phenolic compounds. These compounds are potent antioxidants that protect cellular membranes against injury and support a healthy immune response.*  Research shows the beneficial effects of Mucosave™ FG include its ability to protect and allow for repair of the gastric mucosa, protection against oxidative damage, and its modulation of the acidic response.* Slippery Elm Bark: Slippery elm (Ulmus rubra) bark is an herbal extract that has been used in traditional Native American medicine to help with wounds, burns, and digestive discomforts. Slippery elm contains a soluble fiber known as mucilage that absorbs water to form a gel-like substance, similar to prickly pear polysaccharides. This gel-like substance is known as a demulcent, or mucoprotective agent, which means it can form a protective coating over mucous membranes.* In the upper GI tract, the mucilage of slippery elm bark may help coat and protect it from irritation that may result from acid reflux.* Slippery elm bark has also been shown to have prebiotic properties, suporting the relative abundance of butyrate- and propionate-producers in the gut.* Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid known to help soothe the intestines, help improve gut barrier function, and help increase the expression of mucin2, an integral protein in the formation of the mucosal barrier.* In summary, slippery elm bark works alongside the Mucosave™ FG blend to help protect mucosal barrier function in the GI tract in order to relieve occasional heartburn and acid reflux.* Why take Reflux - Mucosal Support? Reflux - Mucosal Support may help with occasional: Heartburn* Nausea* Bloating* Abdominal discomfort* Constipation* Flatulence* Burping and belching* General stomach discomfort* Regurgitation* Mucosal barrier function* Esophageal discomfort* Immune system health* Silver Fern™ Brand Reflux - Mucosal Support was specifically formulated to work fast so that you can feel relief fast, help reduce discomfort, help improve mucosal barrier integrity, and assist with occasional reflux issues.* Reflux combines the soothing powers of slippery elm, prickly pear, and olive leaves to support a healthy mucosal lining and relieve occasional heartburn, nausea, bloating, and indigestion.* Mucilage naturally found in prickly pear cladode and slippery elm bark extracts help form a protective gel layer on the gastric mucosa which allows them to soothe the upper GI tract, similar in function to aloe vera but without the unwanted laxative effects or latex concerns.* With this soothing gel layer protecting the mucosa like a shield, the olive leaf extract antioxidants further protect cells against free radicals. Overall this formula supports the health of the GI tract.* In this way, the ingredients in Reflux™ Mucosal Support work together as a team to help restore balance to the protective layers of the digestive system.* Please note ingredients are strong and may taste bitter. * These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
