ReefSense Grounding Probe - Red Sea

A grounding probe is one of the most important safety tools you can add to any aquarium. This universal titanium probe protects you, your family, and your livestock from harmful stray voltage by providing a safe, direct path to ground. By removing unwanted electrical charge from your water, the probe helps reduce stress on fish and corals while adding an extra layer of protection during routine tank maintenance.   When connected to the dedicated grounding port on the ReefControl Power unit, the probe diverts stray voltage generated by pumps, heaters, and other equipment. While most stray voltage is harmless and induced by normal operation, it can also indicate aging or faulty hardware. The weighted design keeps the corrosion-resistant titanium tip submerged at all times for consistent protection. Detailed Description Modern aquariums rely on dozens of electrical components. Over time, even a small flaw in a heater, pump, or cord can allow electricity to leak into the system. This “stray voltage” is not always immediately dangerous, but it can cause long-term stress in fish and corals. In some cases, elevated stray voltage has been associated with conditions like HLLE, making it an issue worth addressing before problems arise.   Stray voltage is also a safety concern for the hobbyist. Placing your hands in a tank with electrical leakage can create a real risk of shock.   A titanium grounding probe solves this by giving stray voltage a safe, controlled route to a grounded outlet. The probe itself contains no electronics and does not interact with your equipment. It simply sits in the water and prevents charge from building up. Titanium is chosen for its corrosion resistance and long-term durability, ensuring the probe will not rust or release contaminants into your aquarium.   The result is a safer environment for both the reef keeper and the reef. Key Features Important safety addition Helps protect the hobbyist from electrical shock caused by faulty or failing equipment.   Reduces livestock stress Neutralizes low-level stray voltage, a potential irritant for fish and corals.   Reef-safe titanium construction Made with a 100 percent non-corrosive titanium tip that will not rust or leach into your water.   Simple to install Place the probe end in your sump or display tank and connect it to a grounded outlet or the grounding port on the ReefControl Power unit.   Reef-safe titanium construction Made with a 100 percent non-corrosive titanium tip that will not rust or leach into your water.   Simple to install Place the probe end in your sump or display tank and connect it to a grounded outlet or the grounding port on the ReefControl Power unit.
