Red Variant

Red Variant — The House & Lot Attractor Fly Meet the Red Variant: the dry-fly equivalent of a trusted wingman who wears black and always gets you a bite. It’s an attractor pattern with personality — simple, bold, and annoyingly effective. Who it’s for: dry fly anglers who prefer confidence over ceremony. Ideal for anyone building a fly box that says “I know what I’m doing” without shouting about it. Designed for real fishing days and the AXG Life — Life, Adventure-Ready. Key Features & Design Pattern: Red Variant (short for House & Lot) — a classic attractor fly Body color: solid black body for high-contrast visibility Tail: white tail to flicker and draw attention Wings: Wulff-style wings for buoyant, easy-to-see presentation Type: dry fly — floats where the action happens Heritage: reportedly a favorite of President Eisenhower — yes, really Performance & Benefits The Red Variant turns uncertain casts into confident ones. The solid black body contrasts against the water surface, the white tail adds flash, and those Wulff-style wings keep it proudly afloat. Translation: more visible, more tempting, more hookups — and fewer “should’ve brought a different fly” excuses. This fly is built for mornings when the fish are picky and afternoons when they’re not. It’s light enough to ride the surface on gentle currents, bold enough to attract attention in riffles, and simple enough that you won’t miss the moment while fiddling with complicated patterns. In short: it helps you turn stuck weekends into hero stories (or at least a decent tale by the campfire). Care & Use Store it dry in your fly box after use. Rinse gently if it picks up grime, and let it air-dry to keep the Wulff wings shapely and ready for action. Ready to upgrade your fly box? Toss the Red Variant into your kit and make your next outing a little bolder — add to cart and let the water tell the rest of the story.
