Red Rock

Oil on Canvas | 24 x 30 inches | 2025 The heat of the desert floor meets the cooling sky. I didn't just paint these cliffs; I built them. I loaded the brush with heavy oil to slab on layers, mimicking the architectural weight of the rock itself. If you look closely at the underpainting, you’ll see flashes of neon orange peeking through the shadows - a technique I use to make the landscape feel like it is radiating stored heat, even in the cooler tones.
