Red Hematite Quartz Specimen

7x9"  Hematoid Quartz, Fire Quartz or Strawberry Quartz is the name given to Quartz crystals included with Hematite. Often the inclusions appear as tiny reddish brown or black. Hematoid Quartz is also known as Specularite Quartz, Ferruginous Quartz or Fire Quartz. The red coloring you see is where iron oxides have permeated into the crystal as well as a heavy concentration of hematite. This Hematoid Fire Quartz is from Madagascar. Ethical sourcing is our number one priority. All of our taxidermy, skulls, bones, sea life and other natural science specimens have met our rigorous standards. See our "about us" section for more information or contact us with specific question. All crystals and minerals vary slightly in size and shape. You will receive a high quality specimen of the selected item but not the exact one pictured.
