A rich, ruby red laceleaf maple that keeps its fiery color all season, cascading in soft, flowing layers like a myth come to life FEATURES:  Deep burgundy to ruby red foliage that holds color exceptionally well Graceful, cascading mound form with finely cut leaves Excellent color retention through summer heat Compact size ideal for small gardens, patios, and foundation plantings Stunning fall display in bright crimson tones Wonderful near boulders, pathways, and water features Ships on our trucks because of the size of the tree; does not fit in a box Bower & Branch Landscape Design Tip:  For the most vibrant color and healthiest foliage, give Red Dragon morning sun followed by afternoon shade in warmer climates. In cooler regions, it tolerates more sun as long as soil moisture stays steady. Mulch around the base to keep soil cool and protect the shallow roots, but keep mulch off the trunk. Prune gently in late winter to enhance the natural cascading shape and remove crossing branches. Red Dragon thrives in designs with clean lines and calm textures, which allow its dramatic foliage to shine as the focal point.
