Red Brick Dust

Red Brick Dust is one of the most famous protective mineral curios in the folk traditions of New Orleans. Traditionally laid across thresholds after cleansing the porch or entryway, it is used to keep out harmful energy, troublesome people, and unwanted spiritual influences. It marks the boundary of the home and helps establish a strong line of protection. Despite what many people now assume after films like The Skeleton Key, Red Brick Dust does not need to be poured in a thick, dramatic line to do its job. In traditional practice, a light sprinkling is often enough when laid with clear intention and prayer. This is not about waste or spectacle. It is about setting a boundary. Use Red Brick Dust across doorways, windowsills, porches, gates, and thresholds to help protect your home and keep evil at bay. It may also be added to floor washes, used to dress candles for protection work, placed in mojo bags and gris gris, or added to doll babies for its guarding qualities. According to oral tradition, it may also be sprinkled over evil conjure to nullify its effects. A little goes a long way. Red Brick Dust remains one of the most respected and practical materials for home protection in Southern conjure. 2.6 oz. WARNING: Do not ingest or use on the genital area.
