Recycled Shawl Pin

This eco-friendly handmade shawl pin is made from natural discarded and recycled bull horn crafted by Peruvian artisans. We designed with the artisan based on their technique, tradition, and tools experience. After boiled and melted, each unique piece has been hand cut, molded, carved, and polished to bring out the natural horn color and texture in a brilliant finish. Production:  Preparing to work the bull horn is arduous. This piece took approximately 2 days by a single family workshop to complete.  All production was done in the suburban of Lima region of Peru. Carbon Footprint:  The production and transportation of this piece resulted in 9 pounds of CO2 emission, roughly equivalent to driving 10 miles in a car.  This is a Carbon Zero product as its footprint has been offset through the purchase of carbon credits. Each of our pieces is handmade by a single family of Peruvian artisans.  Having known them for years, we’re happy to build a working relationship on the spirit of fair trade and friendship.   The price you pay assures a fair living wage for the artisans involved in production.
