Rectangular External Communications Speaker for CB, Ham, GMRS Radio, and Police Scanners - Black, 5 Watts

📋 Overview This compact 5-watt external communications speaker delivers crisp, clear audio for mobile and base station radios. Designed for CB, ham (amateur), GMRS, commercial two-way radios, and police/public safety scanners, it connects via a standard 3.5mm (1/8-inch) mono plug on a 6-foot (approx. 1.8m) cable — the same audio jack found on most mobile and desktop radio installations. The 8-ohm impedance matches the external speaker output of virtually all mobile and base station radios, delivering loud, intelligible audio that cuts through vehicle noise, shop environments, and busy shacks. A mounting bracket and hardware are included so you can install the speaker on a dash, shelf, desk, or wall right out of the box. ⚠️ Important — Connector Compatibility: This speaker uses a standard 3.5mm (1/8-inch) mono audio plug, which is the standard external speaker jack on mobile and base station radios. It is NOT compatible with handheld radios (HTs) that use a dual-pin Kenwood-style connector (or similar proprietary HT speaker/mic ports). If your radio is a handheld with a dual-pin or multi-pin accessory jack, this speaker will not fit. Check your radio's external speaker connection before ordering. ⭐ Key Features 5 Watts / 8 Ohms — Matches the external speaker output of most mobile and base station radios for clear, distortion-free audio at full volume Standard 3.5mm Mono Plug — Right-angle 1/8-inch connector fits the external speaker jack on mobile CB, ham, GMRS, and commercial radios 6-Foot (1.8m) Cable — Generous cord length for flexible speaker placement in vehicles, shacks, or base station setups 50 × 90mm Speaker Driver — Rectangular driver optimized for voice-frequency clarity in communications audio Mounting Bracket Included — Comes with bracket and hardware for dash, shelf, wall, or desk mounting Compact and Lightweight — Small enough to mount anywhere without taking up valuable dash or desk space Durable Black Housing — Rugged rectangular enclosure blends with any radio installation 🔌 Compatibility ✅ Compatible With Any mobile or base station radio with a 3.5mm (1/8-inch) external speaker jack, including: CB Radios — Cobra, Uniden, Midland, Galaxy, President, and other mobile CB radios Ham / Amateur Radios — Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Alinco, and other mobile and base station transceivers (VHF/UHF and HF) GMRS Radios — Midland, Wouxun, and other mobile GMRS radios with 3.5mm speaker jacks Commercial Two-Way Radios — Mobile commercial radios with standard 3.5mm external speaker output Police / Public Safety Scanners — Uniden, Whistler, and other desktop and mobile scanners 🚫 NOT Compatible With Handheld radios (HTs) that use a dual-pin Kenwood-style connector (two separate 2.5mm and 3.5mm pins side by side) Handheld radios with proprietary multi-pin speaker/mic accessory ports (Motorola, Icom, Yaesu HT-style connectors) Any radio that does not have a standard single 3.5mm mono external speaker jack 💡 How to check: Look at the back or side panel of your radio for a jack labeled "EXT SP," "EXT SPEAKER," or marked with a speaker icon. If it accepts a single 3.5mm (1/8-inch) plug — the same size as a standard headphone plug — this speaker will work. If your radio is a handheld (HT) with two small pins side by side for speaker/mic accessories, this speaker is not the right fit. 📊 Specifications Power Rating 5 Watts Impedance 8 Ohms Speaker Driver Size 50 × 90 mm (2.0 × 3.5 inches) Connector 3.5mm (1/8-inch) mono plug, right-angle Cable Length Approx. 1.8 m (6 feet) Enclosure Dimensions Approx. 128 × 66 × 57 mm (5.04 × 2.60 × 2.24 inches) L × W × H Color Black Mounting Bracket with hardware (included) 📦 What's in the Box 1x External Communications Speaker with 3.5mm cable 1x Mounting Bracket Mounting Hardware (screws) 🎯 Typical Applications Vehicle Installations — Mount on the dash, under the dash, or on the transmission hump for clear radio audio above road noise Ham Radio Shacks — Place next to your transceiver for improved audio over the radio's built-in speaker CB Base Stations — Desktop speaker for home CB setups GMRS Base and Mobile — Clear communications audio for GMRS mobile and base station radios Scanner Monitoring — Improved audio clarity for police, fire, EMS, and aviation scanner listening Commercial / Fleet Radio — External speaker for work trucks, service vehicles, and dispatch stations 🚀 Getting Started Locate the external speaker jack on your radio — it's typically labeled "EXT SP" or marked with a speaker icon on the back or side panel Plug in the 3.5mm connector — the right-angle plug seats flush against the radio body for a clean installation Mount the speaker using the included bracket and hardware in a convenient location — on the dash, a shelf, or the wall near your operating position Adjust your radio's volume — the radio's built-in speaker will mute automatically when the external speaker is plugged in, and all audio will come through this speaker 💡 Tip: For vehicle installations, position the speaker facing toward you (not toward the windshield or floor) for the best audio clarity. The mounting bracket allows you to angle the speaker for optimal sound direction. ⚠️ Important Notes This speaker does NOT work with handheld radios (HTs) that use dual-pin Kenwood-style connectors or proprietary multi-pin HT accessory ports. It requires a standard single 3.5mm external speaker jack. This is a passive speaker. It does not have a built-in amplifier — it is powered by your radio's audio output stage, just like any standard external communications speaker. Do not exceed 5 watts. Driving the speaker beyond its rated power may cause distortion or damage. Audio is mono. Communications radios output mono audio, and this speaker is designed for mono communications audio — it is not a stereo or music speaker. Plugging in the external speaker will mute your radio's internal speaker. This is normal behavior for all radios with an external speaker jack. Sold and supported by Envistia Mall.
