Real Vole Skull Set

This real vole skull set comprises four distinct vole species, each preserved with original institutional markings that document their provenance and research history. The specimens retain their natural anatomical character, offering educators and collectors an authentic comparative study of rodent cranial morphology across geographic and ecological variants. Hand-labeled by the Museum of Osteology, these delicate skulls showcase the subtle skeletal differences that distinguish forest-dwelling, grassland, and specialized burrowing voles—making this set ideal for natural history education, osteological research, or serious specimen collecting. There are 143 species of voles found world wide. Voles are small mouse-like rodents that occupy nearly all habitat types. Most voles can be distinguished from mice by their short tails and robust body.
