This mandible has been painted as an anatomy teaching specimen, with muscle attachment sites marked in red and blue and labeled in abbreviated Latin (Temporalis, Pterygoid, Mylo-hyoideus, and others). A small metal fastener sits near the ramus. Several teeth remain at the back, while the anterior shows damage with exposed tooth roots. A useful specimen for anatomy or dentistry education, and a striking piece for collectors of medical teaching aids. We believe education is the greatest gift osteology can share and that every human specimen can contribute to the advancement of science. These specimens are provided to us by retired physicians, medical researchers, dental professionals, and former university medical programs. We also work with accredited donor programs. A small sample - often antiques that simply do not qualify for medical/research grade usage - are made available to osteology enthusiasts worldwide so that they may continue to educate and inform. This product requires additional insurance to ensure your package arrives safely. A $25 shipping insurance fee will be added to the cart at the time of checkout. Partial Mandible Length 11.2 cm (4.4 in) Partial Mandible Width 4.7 cm (1.9 in) Partial Mandible Height 6.1 cm (2.4 in)
