Ray Tubes Select KT88

Tube: 300B The KT88 is a beam tetrode introduced in 1956 as a variant of its smaller cousin, the KT66. Its name is derived from kinkless tetrode, an earlier name for the beam tetrode, and itʼs been popular in high-fidelity stereo systems since its introduction. Since New Old Stock of the KT88 is especially rare, Ray Tubes is proud to offer brand-new KT88 vacuum tubes. The SELECT 300B captures the heart of what makes the 300B tube legendary—lush mids, graceful highs, and a coherent, musical bass foundation. Bass is controlled and cohesive, with moderate extension and just the right amount of body. Ideal for genres like acoustic, jazz, and classical. The midrange is where the SELECT 300B truly excels. Rich, full-bodied tonal character with a touch of warmth. Vocals are especially well rendered, from baritone to soprano. Delivers the characteristic smoothness of the 300B, with a layered treble extension and a natural sense of sparkle. A soft warmth in the upper register gives strings and female vocals a refined presence.
