Sodalite is a blue stone that comes from deep in the earth, high sodium rocks with no silica in them, hence the name, Sodalite.  Sodalite varies in hardness from 5.5-6 on the Moh's scale of hardness. Sodalite forms in large masses so you will sometimes see large carvings made from it and it is often confused with lapis lazuli and is known as the "poor mans lapis".  Sodalite is known for helping to speak truth to power. It's believed to have the ability to unite logic with intuition and the drive for truth with the rise of idealism.
