This mystical blue mineral (strontium sulfate) is named for its beautiful blue shades of color.  Metaphysicians say that it has associations with the Heavens, with Angels and Spirit Guides…and believe that it assists one in communicating with the Heavenly realms.  It has associations with calming energies and peaceful centeredness…is associated with the 3rd eye chakra (Ajna Center) and the throat chakra…and is generally thought to open one’s ethereal senses to be able to perceive subtle reality.  It is also thought to help facilitate ease of decision making and proactive change…in a peaceful way…and also is believed to help improve communication skills. Mineral: Strontium Sulfate Crystal System: Orthorhombic Hardness: 3-3.5 mohs (not very hard at all and difficult to incorporate into jewelry…making this better for collecting rather than wearing) Chakra: third eye and throat chakra We love this mineral here at Witch Joseph…it has become a staple in our crystal practices.
