Rainy's Flies Lefty's Deceiver

Some flies are trendy. Lefty's Deceiver is not one of them. This is one of the classic baitfish patterns that has been catching predatory fish for decades, and there is a reason saltwater fly anglers still carry them. The Lefty's Deceiver is built to imitate a wide range of baitfish without trying to look exactly like any one of them. Its flowing materials give the fly plenty of movement in the water, while the longer profile creates the look of a fleeing, injured, or disoriented baitfish when stripped through the water. That versatility makes the Deceiver a natural fit for saltwater fishing. Fish it with fast, aggressive strips when predators are actively chasing bait, slow it down with longer pauses when the bite is less frantic, or vary the retrieve until the fish tell you what they want. These Rainy's Flies Lefty's Deceivers are tied on durable 2/0 stainless steel hooks, making them well suited for the demands of inshore saltwater fly fishing. For striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, false albacore, and other predators feeding on baitfish, Lefty's Deceiver is one of those proven patterns that deserves a permanent spot in the fly box.
