Rainy's Flies Clouser's Deep Minnow

There are flies that come and go, and then there are patterns that earn a permanent spot in the fly box. The Clouser's Deep Minnow is one of them. Built around a simple baitfish profile, the Clouser Deep Minnow uses weighted dumbbell eyes to get the fly down and give it a darting, jigging action as it is stripped through the water. The weighted-eye design also makes the fly ride hook point up, helping it work close to the bottom and around structure while reducing the chances of hanging up. For saltwater anglers, that makes the Clouser an extremely versatile pattern. Strip it quickly when fish are chasing bait, slow it down and let it sink when they are holding deeper, or work it with short strips and pauses to imitate an injured or fleeing baitfish. It is equally at home around beaches, inlets, bays, flats, bridges, and other inshore water. These Rainy's Flies Clouser's Deep Minnows are tied on a durable 2/0 stainless steel hook and finished with red dumbbell eyes, making them well suited for the demands of saltwater fishing. Whether you are chasing striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, false albacore, or other predatory saltwater species, the Clouser Deep Minnow is one of those patterns that is worth keeping within easy reach.
