These decals have clear backing. How to Apply Waterslide Nail Decals For best results, apply over a white base to make the colors stand out. Prep & cut – Choose your design and cut it out as close to the edge as possible. Soak the decal – Place the decal in water for about 10–20 seconds. Slide & remove backing – Once loosened, gently slide the decal off the backing paper. Remove excess water – Pat both sides dry with a lint-free wipe or paper towel. Apply to a tacky layer – For best adhesion, use transfer foil glue or a sticky base layer.  Set the decal – Gently place the decal on the nail. I recommend using a stamping cube, but tweezers also work. Smooth gently – Work your way from the middle to the edges, pressing lightly to remove any bubbles or wrinkles without tearing the decal.  Tidy the edges – If needed, remove excess with a brush dipped in acetone around the cuticle or tip.  Seal the design – Apply your top coat for a smooth, lasting finish.
