Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Select a location that receives full sun and has well-draining soil. Dig a hole that is slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant in the hole, and backfill with soil. Water thoroughly after planting. 2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy during the growing season. Water deeply about once a week, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between watering. Reduce watering in the fall and winter months when the plant goes dormant. 3. Pruning: Prune the plant in late winter or early spring to promote bushier growth. Remove any dead or weak branches to improve air circulation and shape. Be careful not to over-prune, as it can reduce flowering. 4. Fertilizing: During the growing season, use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer every six to eight weeks to encourage healthy growth and vibrant blooms. Follow package instructions for application rates and avoid fertilizing in the fall or winter months.
