Quick facts Item Rainbow magnetic hematite (hematine) tumbled stones Material Man-made magnetic hematite (hematine), not natural hematite crystal Finish Rainbow iridescent coating Size Medium tumbled pieces, sold as a pair Use Decorative display, craft, jewelry-making magnets Care Keep dry; store away from electronics and other magnets About this piece Magnetic hematite, often called hematine, is a manufactured magnetic material designed to resemble natural hematite's dark metallic luster. It is not mined hematite crystal, it's produced specifically because it can be magnetized, which natural hematite cannot reliably be. The rainbow finish on this piece is an added iridescent coating, giving it a shimmering, color-shifting surface that natural stone does not have on its own. These stones are not a medical device and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Because they are magnetic, keep them away from pacemakers, other medical implants, credit cards, and sensitive electronics. How to use it These pieces are popular for craft and jewelry projects, desk or shelf display, or simply as a tactile, magnetic novelty. Two pieces will click together and can be separated by sliding rather than pulling straight apart, which protects the coating. Keep small children and pets away from loose magnetic pieces, as swallowed magnets are a serious health hazard. Care & cleansing Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Keep the stones dry and away from prolonged moisture, which can affect the coating over time. Store separately from credit or hotel key cards, hearing aids, and other magnetically sensitive items. A note on natural hematite If you are looking for the mined mineral instead, our natural hematite collection carries the true stone, which is not magnetic on its own. This rainbow magnetic piece is intentionally different: a manufactured, magnetized alternative chosen for its playful color-shifting surface and its ability to click together, rather than for mineralogical rarity.
