Radiation Water Test

This test measures radioactivity in drinking water from alpha and beta particles released from elements such as radium and uranium, and also radon in water. Testing is as easy as one, two, three: 1. We send you the water testing bottles. 2. You fill them using easy instructions and ship them to the lab with the pre-paid label. 3. We email you personalized easy to understand results directly from Dr. Spayd with an explanation of any problems detected. Free Shipping Both Ways Alpha and Beta radiation can be emitted by naturally-occurring radioactive isotopes of uranium, radium, and other radioactive sources as well as by man-made radionuclides. Radon, a radioactive gas, can dissolve in well water. Long term exposure to low levels of radiation in drinking water is associated with increased cancer risk. This test is highly recommended for people served by private wells. Various US states suggest safe levels for radon in drinking water below the 300 to 10,000 pCi/L range and testing for radon is especially important for private well water, but can also be found in public water supplies, which are not regulated for radon. While radon in home air is a commonly known problem, radon is also very soluble in water, and well water is highly vulnerable. Radon is a known carcinogen with a particular impact on internal organs from ingestion and inhalation. Radon escapes from your water into the house air, especially from showering, dishwashers, and washing machines. This water test package provides the required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results include analysis of Alpha Radiation, Beta Radiation, and Radon in Water. While radioactive source isotopes can be tested and quantified individually, this broad radiological screen is recommended unless you already suspect a specific radioactive problem.
