Quick Facts: ABV: 40%  |  Origin: Armenia, Ararat Plain  |  Age: 8 Years  |  Distillery: Proshyan Brandy Factory Production & Heritage The Proshyan Brandy Factory, based in Armenia, produces the Queen Tamara line across multiple age statements including 3, 5, 8, and 10 year expressions. The 8 Year draws its fruit from vineyards on the Ararat plain — a region with volcanic soils and a continental climate that has sustained Armenian winemaking and brandy production for centuries. After distillation, the spirit rests for eight years, allowing the grape distillate to develop the almond-accented profile that the producer highlights as a defining trait of this particular bottling. Tasting Notes Aroma: A saturated golden-amber color in the glass gives way to a full, rich bouquet. Expect light dried fruit aromatics layered with soft vanilla and chocolate notes, along with a subtle almond undercurrent that becomes more pronounced as the brandy opens up. Taste: The entry is smooth and rounded, with dried stone fruit and warm vanilla arriving first. Mid-palate, the signature almond flavor weaves through gentle chocolate and oak tones. The texture is notably velvety — a hallmark of extended aging in the Queen Tamara range — carrying weight without heaviness. Finish: The finish is medium-long with lingering warmth, trailing notes of toasted almond and dried fruit. A soft sweetness and mild spice carry the close without bitterness or harshness. How to Drink Queen Tamara 8 Year Neat in a tulip-shaped snifter at room temperature is the most rewarding way to appreciate the eight years of development in this brandy. A single ice cube can open the aromatics further if preferred. In a Sidecar, the almond and dried fruit notes complement the citrus of fresh lemon juice and orange liqueur. A Brandy Alexander benefits from the chocolate and vanilla tones in the spirit pairing naturally with cream. For a Vieux Carré variation, the aged grape spirit brings depth alongside sweet vermouth and bitters.
