QuiltMotion X - Computerized Quilting for Sewing Machines!

Turn Your Machine into a Computerized Quilting Machine with QuiltMotion X Foundations! Ready to automate your quilting with the machine you already own? Now you can with Grace Company's amazing new QuiltMotion X system, designed specifically to work with all home sewing machines. What Is QuiltMotion X Foundations? QuiltMotion X Foundations — QMX — is a computerized quilting system that attaches directly to your home sewing machine on the Cutie Breeze quilting frame. It automates the movement of your machine across the frame, letting you plan, place and stitch designs perfectly every time. How to Quilt with QuiltMotion X Foundations Let's walk through the process of quilting one of the built-in designs in QMX with a home machine. This is so easy, fast and fun, you'll never want to stop quilting! Step 1 - Pick a Design. Choose a pantograph, block design, or straight line from the QMX app. There are 20 designs included with the program, and more are available through Grace Company's Design Store. Step 2 - Place the design. Roll your machine across your quilt on the Cutie Breeze Frame. You choose the start and end points on your quilt and tell the computer exactly where the design should go, and how big it should be. Step 3 - Press Start. Pull up your bobbin thread and hit start on your machine in time with the countdown on QMX. This computerized quilting system moves your machine to form the design and alerts you when it's time to stop. QMX Foundations is designed for quilters who already own a larger sewing machine and want to try computerized quilting without investing in a longarm. If that's you — this is your entry point. Is QuiltMotion X Right for You? QMX Foundations is built for a specific quilter: someone with a quality home sewing machine who is curious about computerized quilting, wants to finish quilts more consistently, and isn't ready to invest in a full longarm quilting system. You're A Great Fit For QMX If: You already own a sewing machine that has a needle up/down button, a start/stop button, and speed adjustment on the machine. You're tired of wrestling large quilts through your home machine and want a better way - it's time to learn frame quilting! You want to quilt your own quilts with pretty designs in the blocks or repeated pantograph designs, and you don't want to struggle through the learning curve of free-hand free motion quilting. You're curious about computerized quilting but want to start at an affordable place to begin. You have room for the Cutie Breeze frame — it's a tabletop frame, so you can set it on your coffee table and dive right in. QMX May Not Be The Right Fit If: Your sewing machine doesn't have a speed adjustment, needle up/down, and start/stop button — these features are required for QMX. You don't want to purchase another sewing machine or the Cutie Breeze frame just to use QMX. You're looking for the absolute easiest edge-to-edge quilting experience - for this, you'll really want QCT 6. If you have the space and are ready for the easiest and fastest quilting experience, QCT 6 using a Grace machine on a rolling rail frame will be a better fit. Will QMX Work with My Sewing Machine? This is the most important question to answer before you buy, and I want to be very clear about it. QMX Foundations is compatible with many domestic sewing machines — not just Grace machines. I've tested this system personally and found it works beautifully with the right machine setup. Here's What Your Machine Needs: ✓ Required: Needle up/down button — You must be able to reliably stop with the needle UP every time. This is also a necessary feature so you can easily pull up your bobbin thread at the beginning and end of every design. ✓ Required: Start/stop button — This allows the machine to run automatically, at a set speed without the foot pedal. You must have a start button in a convenient place on the sewing machine so you can hit it in time with the QMX countdown. ✓ Required: Speed Selector — The machine's stitching speed must match the speed of QMX moving the carriage. By having a speed adjustment slider, you can set a consistent stitching speed for the QMX system to work with. If your machine has all three of these features, it will very likely work well with QMX Foundations. Many mid-to-high range home machines from Singer, Janome, Juki, Brother, Pfaff, Viking, BabyLock, and others meet these requirements. Not sure if your machine qualifies? Reach out before you order and I'll help you confirm compatibility. Do I Need a Stitch Regulator with QMX? Short answer: no. The QMX system moves your machine at a steady speed. If you run your machine at a steady speed to match the QMX speed, you will produce nice stitches every time. This is why a Start / Stop button and Speed Selector are required for QMX to work with your sewing machine. After setting up your QuiltMotion X system, the very first step is to run a speed test and find the right speed to run your machine with QMX. Once you find the right setting, shoot a picture of your machine so you don't forget and you'll be able to return to those perfect sized stitches every time. The Cutie Breeze Frame — What You Need to Know QMX Foundations is designed specifically for use with the Cutie Breeze tabletop quilting frame. If you don't already own the Cutie Breeze, you can bundle it with your QuiltMotion X system for a great price! The Cutie Breeze is a compact, tabletop hoop frame — it sits on a table or sewing cabinet rather than taking up floor space. It's a practical, space-saving option for quilters who don't have room for a full standing frame. What about the original Cutie frame? No, unfortunately the original Cutie Frame is NOT compatible with QMX. How Hard Is QMX to Set Up? Easier than you'd expect. I'll be honest — I was a little nervous about setting up my own QMX system, but the process was very easy following Grace Company's detailed assembly manual.  The motors attach to the Cutie Breeze frame, the belts connect to guide the machine's movement, and the QMX app is already installed on the included tablet. Most quilters are up and quilting their first design within a few hours of unboxing. One learning curve I experienced was not being familiar with Android tablets. If you're also an Apple user, don't worry - you'll quickly learn how to navigate the tablet and have no problems running QMX. What's Included with QMX Foundations Everything you need to attach the QuiltMotion X system to your Cutie Breeze frame and start quilting: QuiltMotion X motor unit — attaches to the Cutie Breeze frame Drive belts — guide precise machine movement QMX Foundations software already installed on the QMX tablet included Mounting hardware and assembly guide LeahDay.com offers three QMX Combos to help you quickly get all the gear you need to begin computerized quilting: QMX - Foundations - $1499.95 - This is just the QMX system, so purchase this option if you already have a compatible sewing machine and a Cutie Breeze quilting frame. QMX + Cutie Breeze - $1999.95 - This combo includes the QMX system and a Cutie Breeze frame for a great price! This is perfect for quilters who have a compatible machine, but need the frame and the QMX system. QMX + Cutie Breeze + Little Rebel - $4698.95 - This combo includes EVERYTHING - a high speed, 13-inch throat sewing machine with the features needed to run QMX, the QMX system and the Cutie Breeze frame. This is everything you need to dive into computerized quilting at a fraction of the cost of an embroidery machine and a much easier quilting experience. What Can I Quilt with QMX Foundations? QMX Foundations handles three types of quilting: Pantograph (Edge-to-Edge) Quilting Choose a design and set your start and end points. QMX stitches the pattern continuously from one side of your quilt to the other. This is one of the fastest ways to finish a quilt top with a consistent, professional-looking allover design. Block Placement Quilting Set four corner points for a block, and QMX places your chosen design precisely within that space. This is where the system really shines — you can achieve beautiful custom quilting from Day 1 with QMX! Straight Line Quilting Set your start and stop points and let QMX stitch a perfectly straight line — no rulers, no wobble, no fatigue from guiding the machine by hand. Great for modern quilts, geometric designs, and anywhere you need a straight line. QMX Foundations vs. QCT 6 — Which System Is Right for You? These are two different systems built for two different quilters. Here's the simplest way to think about it:   QMX Foundations QCT 6 Machine required Any compatible domestic sewing machine Grace longarm or Little Rebel only Frame required Cutie Breeze (tabletop) Any current Grace quilting frame Quilt size All sizes up to full bed quilts All sizes up to full bed quilts Pantograph quilting ✓ ✓ Block placement ✓ ✓ (Plus level and above) Straight line quilting ✓ ✓ (Plus level and above) Design import Via QMX app QCT 6 Plus and above Price $1,499 From $2,999 Best for Quilters with a good domestic machine, trying computerized quilting for the first time Quilters who already own a different Grace quilting frame or Grace longarm machine. The Little Rebel sewing machine is the one machine that works with both systems. If you own a Little Rebel and want to grow into a rolling rail frame later, QCT 6 will be the better option for you from the beginning. If you're starting with QMX on the Cutie Breeze, that's a great foundation - and you'll have transferable skills when you're ready for more. Frequently Asked Questions Will QMX work with my Janome / Juki / Brother / Pfaff / Singer machine? Very likely yes, as long as your machine has a needle up/down button, a start/stop button, and speed selector. These three features are required. If you're not sure whether your specific model qualifies, reach out before you order and I'll help you confirm. Do I need the Cutie Breeze frame? Yes - QMX Foundations is designed specifically for the Cutie Breeze tabletop quilting frame. If you don't already own one, you'll need to add it. I sell the Cutie Breeze separately or you can purchase both together. Do I need a stitch regulator? No. I've tested the QMX system and found as long as your machine has the ability to selec the speed AND run automatically with a Start / Stop button control, your stitches will be consistent. What size quilts can I make with QMX on the Cutie Breeze? You can make any size quilt on the Cutie Breeze frame because it is a hoop frame. I do recommend starting with smaller projects just to get the basics under your belt before attempting to quilt a king! Is QMX hard to set up? No, if you can assemble your Cutie Breeze Frame, you can assemble this too! The motor mounts to the Cutie Breeze, the belts connect to guide movement, and the QMX tablet already has the software installed. This system is a little faster and easier to set up than QCT 6, but both systems have great assembly manuals to follow. Can I use QMX with the Little Rebel? Yes — the Little Rebel sewing machine works beautifully with QMX Foundations on the Cutie Breeze. It's the setup I personally use and recommend. The Little Rebel also works with QCT 6 on a rolling rail frame, so it gives you the most flexibility if you want to grow your setup later. Ready to Try Computerized Quilting? QMX Foundations is the most accessible entry point into computerized quilting - and it works with the machine you already own. Whether you're finishing lap quilts faster with pantograph designs or placing precise block patterns for the first time, this system changes what's possible without requiring a full longarm investment. If you have questions before you order — about machine compatibility, setup, or whether QMX or QCT is the better fit for you — please contact us. I'll give you a straight answer, even if that means talking you out of it if I don't think it's a good fit.
