Put On My Headset, Now I'm In a Different World

Put On My Headset, Now I’m In A Different World: Poetry from 826NYC Students at Academy for Young Writers is an anthology invested in the digital. Like, we had no choice, but to be thrown to pixel, Zoom, and headsets; and somehow the writing sessions were nostalgia-tinted. We linked up across time zones huddled near webcams crusty from last night’s dreams. Let your romanticism rest, dear reader. I mean literal crust, and the webcams were blurred by thumbprints. Put On… really puts on for poetry. Enjoy this student work. Let it move you into an imaginative capacity that was beyond you before this reading. Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit 826NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students, ages six to eighteen, with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. This book is also available as a downloadable interactive PDF.
