Pumice Bonsai Soil Component - Medium to Large Particles - Domestic - gallon bag

Pumice is an important component in many bonsai soil mixes. It's a volcanic substance that is very light and porous (90% porosity) which allows for excellent drainage of excess water, while retaining optimal amounts for healthy growth (how long water is retained depends on climate and other factors). A simple mix of lava and pumice when supplemented with slow release fertilizer works for most bonsai. Another favorite mix, especially for conifers is our Professional Soil Mix of three equal parts lava, pumice and Akadama. This mix also requires fertilizing.  Mined in the U.S.A. - Particles range from 2mm to 5mm -  1 gallon bag
