New shrubs need regular moisture but established shrubs can be water-wise and add to a fire-wise landscaping plan! Provide a mulched bed and supplemental moisture for the best display. Many gardeners question when to prune Butterfly Bushes. Butterfly Bush pruning is important so the bush grows back yearly with full and healthy blooms. Prune back all stems hard each spring just before it starts to grow again! If you live in a colder zone, it may act as a Perennial and die down all the way during the frosts and quickly regrow from the roots, not to worry - these flowering ornamentals grow quickly!
