Pu Ehr Looseleaf Tea

Pu Ehr, sometimes written Pu'erh, Pu-erh, Pu-ehr, Pu'er, is a fermented tea from China. From the Yunnan Provence of China, this fermented tea is sold in this looseleaf version and small and large tea cakes - some are very valuable and priced as such. Check out Pu Ehr Tuo Cha for a affordably priced teacake Pu Ehr.  While it often gets lumped into the black tea category, Pu Ehr is its own category and a truly fermented tea. The term "fermentation" comes up often in tea lingo; however, the only truly fermented tea with all the benefits that fermented foods deliver is Pu Ehr tea. We love this tea for its rich, complex notes of smoke, chocolate and mushrooms. The earthy flavor is smooth on the first steep and gets better with the subsequent steeps. The Chinese prize this tea out of respect for the workmanship involved in creating such a luxurious tea with added health benefits. This tea is a must for the tea connoisseur.
