PTSD Triggers Worksheet

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition where certain triggers—like sounds, sights, or smells—can bring back memories of a scary or upsetting event, which causes strong emotions and makes it hard to cope. For young clients, figuring out what sets off these feelings can be difficult without support from a trusted adult. The PTSD Triggers Worksheet is made for clients to explore and identify their personal triggers in a safe manner. It requires them to identify situations, places, or sensations that may cause discomfort, along with helpful questions to reflect on their triggers and coping skills they are willing to use. By completing this worksheet, kids and teens can become more aware of their emotions and feel more in control. As they practice coping strategies, they will be better equipped to handle their triggers and feel safer. Parents, teachers, and caregivers can support this process by offering a calm, understanding space for kids and teens to share their thoughts. They may suggest follow-up activities, like grounding techniques or creating a calm kit, to make coping easier. *This item is an instant digital download.
