Pteranodon Skull Pendant

Pteranodon Skull Pendant Pteranodon longiceps - Pteranodons are one of the largest known species of flying reptiles and lived during the late Cretaceous period. They had toothless beaks similar to birds and their iconic cranial crests were probably display structures, though they may have had other functions as well. This piece features a hinged jaw. Includes matching 24 inch chain. Wooden display base optional. Skull Dimensions: 69mm x 16mm x 27mm More about Fire & Bone jewelry: Each and every Fire & Bone skull jewelry piece began life as a real animal skull. Using cutting-edge 3D scanners they bring an exact copy of that skull into the digital realm. It is here that they scale the skull down to size before bringing it back into the physical world. Using a high-resolution 3D printer, a miniaturized version of the original skull is created in wax. From that wax, a mold is made and from that mold they are able to produce a perfect miniature replica of our original animal skull in White Bronze, Yellow Bronze, or Sterling Silver, using age-old lost wax casting techniques.
