Features The D290Py-B is a high power mids & highs compression driver with the highest sensitivity in its 1 exit class. It offers unsurpassed vocals and crystal clear natural sounds from its unbreakable Polyimide diaphragm. Its high output and smooth midrange frequency response allow you to use this driver in any high output audio application for vocal reinforcement. This driver is commonly found in most PRO Audio manufacturers premium PA speaker cabinets. This top of the line technology is ideally suited to many different types of applications: PRO Audio Line-arrays, high-end monitors, high output home audio speakers for which performance is crucial. 1 Exit Polyimide Mids & Highs Compression Driver New Technology supersede titanium diaphragms, being able to play low frequencies without shattering and performing more accurately at high frequencies. Crystal clear natural sound with wider response from 650 to 19,000 Hz Polyimide diaphragm with high temperature 1.75 Voice Coil, providing dynamic output along with excellent efficiency 109 dB Sensitivity PRO Audio horn driver, able to handle 180 Watts Continuous Program Power (RMS) with music Standard 2 and 3 bolt patterns make them an easy replacement and upgrade option for many Pro audio cabinets. Includes bolt-on to screw-on adapter with mounting hardware. Available in a Screw-On Version. The specially designed Polyimide diaphragm provides durability and additional damping for natural sound quality. This technology raises the bar for high frequency drivers by giving the driver wider usable bandwidth for smooth, dynamic output along with excellent efficiency. Polyimide diaphragms supersede titanium diaphragms, being able to play low frequencies without shattering and performing more accurately at high frequencies. Recommended Crossover Settings: The polyimide diaphragm is attached to a 1.75 diameter copper-clad aluminum wire with Kapton former for a 180 Watts RMS musical power handling, when used with recommended HPF using PRV Digital Signal Processor DSP 1000 Hz at 12 dB per octave filter Crossover / BT12 900 Hz at 18 dB per octave filter Crossover / BT18 PRV 1 Exit Bolt-on Mids & Highs Compression Driver 180 Watts 8 Ohm D290Py-B Polyimide Diaphragm 1.75 Voice Coil, Premium High Quality Sound GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Exit Throat Diameter 1 (25.4mm) Nominal impedance 8 Ohm Nominal Power Handling 90 Watts Continuous Program Power (RMS) 180 Watts Peak Power 360 Watts Sensitivity 2.83V at 1m 109 dB Recommended Hi Pass Crossover** **For Full Power Handling 1000 Hz** **12db Per Octave Crossover Frequency Response at -10dB 650 - 19,000 Hz Voice Coil Diameter 1.75(44.4 mm) Voice Coil Wire CCAW Voice Coil Former Material Kapton Diaphragm Material Polyimide Flux Density 1.88 T Magnet Material Ferrite *Nominal power handling is defined as the maximum RMS power that the speaker can handle in a 2-hour test with a pink noise with 6dB of crest factor and a bandpass filter with 12db/oct tuned in its usable frequency range.**Continuous Program Power (RMS) is the maximum power that the speaker can handle considering a regular musical program using our recommended filters, this power can be used to define the optimum amplifier power to provide a clean signal without clipping or saturation. ***Max Peak Power is the maximum power operation for the speaker, this power is allowed just for a few fractions of a second, usually found just on the peaks of the music. Keeping this power for a little longer timer will damage the speaker.
