Prunus serrula, Birch Bark Cherry, No shipping to CA, CO

Easily one of the most superb bark trees to be had, with polished rings of mahogany bark that exfoliate and become sunlit amber-orange shards in the evening light. The leaves are dark green and narrow, and the flowers, opening white from pink buds, bloom early- through mid-spring. But really, it's about the bark, 'bout the bark!  This tree can defoliate with extended periods of heat above 90°.  Grafted to Prunus avium rootstock Shippable 3 qt plants are 24" - 36" tall including pot. *No shipping to CA, CO due to local restrictions Mature size: 20 ft T x 20 ft W Minimum temperature: -20° F
