The positive locking clutch firmly clamps the double notch securely until it is released. Please note that these Replacement Backs can only be used with 0.034" Protektor posts for optimal secure locking. If the backing really slips off easily on your post, you may consider replacing the posts. Approx. weight post / back set (Each): 14K Gold: 0.1182 DWT (0.18 grams), 18K Gold: 0.1433 DWT (0.22 grams), Platinum: 0.218 DWT (0.34 grams), Sterling Silver: 0.09 DWT (0.14 grams).
