It's a natural blend of herbs, vitamins, and very specific amino acids that are precursors to dopamine, other catecholamines, and serotonin. It's formulated to support positive moods, focus, memory, emotional balance, and overall cognitive wellbeing.* - How It Works - As with any organ, substances in the diet such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids (omega 3) can affect brain chemistry and function.1 Until recently, it had not been fully accepted that nutrition had any influence on brain health. Today, some foods and supplements are being recognized for their support of emotional wellness. There is now enough documented evidence to assert that certain amino acids affect the synthesis and release of neurotransmitters (brain chemicals). However, their effects on brain function are not fully understood by the mainstream medical community. This lack of understanding often leads to prescription drugs as a first line of defense for a mood imbalance, when simply supplementing the diet with prodcuts like ours may prove sufficient. Studies have shown that the diet does indeed influence brain function. Brains cells require specific nutrients to produce neurotransmitters (chemical messengers in the brain). Neurotransmitters, including dopamine, other catecholamines, and serotonin, help regulate our moods and emotions. When the brain is under emotional stress, it can become depleted of these key neurotransmitters.2,3,4 Therefore, it is reasonable to suggest, supplementing the diet with the Protazen® system of emotional wellness supplements can promote the natural production of key neurotransmitters. Additionally, because these particular precursors are found in many of our protein rich foods, they are consider very safe to take as dietary supplements.5 Footnotes: 1 Bourre JM. “effecs of nutrients (in food) on the structure and function of the nervous system update on dietary requirements for brain.
