Prohibited Pils

The Classic American Pilsner was originally brewed by German immigrants who brought both the process and yeast with them when they settled in America. Using native ingredients, they created a unique version of the original Pilsner with a slight grainy-like sweetness from the use of maize. After prohibition, the style died out. It has been resurrected by home-brewers and craft brewers. The Prohibited Pils contains: Malt extract Milled specialty grain Hops Priming sugar Fining agents SafLager W34/70 (Lager) or SafAle US-05 Ale Yeast Each Bacchus Batches kit is formulated to produce a specific style of beer. Since the quantity and alpha acid in hops vary sometimes significantly from one year to the next or from one bale to the next we adjust the varieties and amounts of hops in Bacchus Batches kit to provide consistent results.
