Professor Sargent Camellia- 3 Gallon

Camellia japonica 'Professor Sargent'   Professor Sargent Camellia displays magnificent, showy, brilliant dark red double blooms that grabs the eye of any passerby. The flowers are about 4 inches in size and begin opening in late winter, continuing through mid-spring. Gives interest all year round with its marvelous blooms and its rich, glossy green foliage. Professor Sargent reaches a mature height of 6 to 8 feet and width of 4 to 6 feet. Uses for this camellia include specimen, privacy screen, foundation, hedge, espalier, woodland garden, border, landscape bed, and cut flowers.   Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
