Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is a needle chisel tool used for? A: A needle chisel tool uses a bundle of hardened steel needles that rapidly hammer a surface at 4500 BPM. This makes it ideal for removing rust, paint, weld slag, and scale from irregular surfaces like welds, castings, structural steel, and ship hulls. The individual needles conform to uneven surfaces that flat scrapers or grinders cannot reach. Q: How many needles does this chisel tool include? A: This kit includes 19 replacement needles plus the needles pre-installed in the tool. The hardened steel needles are individually replaceable — when one wears down or breaks, replace just that needle rather than the entire set. The included chisel kit adds versatility for scraping applications. Q: What compressor do I need for the needle chisel tool? A: The needle chisel tool operates at 4500 BPM and requires approximately 4-5 CFM at 90 PSI. A compressor with at least a 20-gallon tank and 5+ CFM output provides enough air reserve for continuous operation without frequent cycling. Why Professionals Choose This Tool Dual-Function Tool: Includes both needle chisel tool head AND chisel attachment — two tools in one for complete surface preparation 4,500 BPM: High-impact frequency for fast rust, paint, and scale removal on industrial surfaces 19 Hardened Needles: Wide needle array covers large surface areas while reaching into pits and crevices Chisel Kit Included: Switch to chisel mode for heavy scale removal, weld seam cleanup, and gasket scraping What's in the Box air needle chisel body Chisel attachment 19 hardened steel needles (pre-installed) Needle guard/retainer Air inlet fitting (1/4" NPT) User manual Compatible With Air Compressors 5+ CFM at 90 PSI, 30+ gallon tank Replacement Needles LE-B9707-1 19-piece hardened steel set Surfaces Steel, iron, cast iron, concrete, brick, stone, aluminum (with caution) Ideal Applications: rust removal, weld cleanup, scale removal, gasket scraping, surface prep, marine maintenance, structural steel, foundry work How does this compare to the LE-AN67 needle chisel tool? This model operates at 4,500 BPM and includes a chisel attachment for heavier removal work. The LE-AN67 runs at 4,800 BPM for slightly faster needle action but without the chisel option. Choose this model for versatility (needles + chisel); choose the LE-AN67 for maximum needle chisel tool speed. What is included in the chisel kit? A flat chisel attachment that fits the same tool body. Swap from needle head to chisel head for heavy scale removal, gasket scraping, and weld cleanup. The chisel delivers concentrated impact force for removing thick coatings and buildup that needles alone cannot efficiently handle. Compared to the dedicated LE-AN67 needle scaler (4,800 BPM), this model trades slightly lower speed for the added chisel capability. Compared to standalone air hammers with chisel bits, the integrated needle scaler eliminates the need for a second tool when switching between heavy chipping and surface preparation.
