John Boos Gathering Block – Walnut 4" End-Grain Butcher Block Kitchen Island with Wicker Basket Storage

John Boos Gathering Block – Walnut, 4" End-Grain Butcher Block with Wicker Basket Drawer(s) The Gathering Block (Walnut) is more than a workstation—it’s a centerpiece. A 4-inch thick end-grain American Black Walnut top brings warmth, richness, and unmatched durability. Below, a tailored base with its signature wicker basket drawer(s) combines rustic charm with practical storage. Handcrafted in the USA and finished with Boos Block Cream, it’s as refined as it is resilient. A Walnut Worktop That Ages Like Fine Wine Walnut is prized for its deep, chocolate tones and fine grain. In end-grain construction, each fiber stands upright, creating a forgiving surface that heals with use. The checkerboard mosaic of walnut blocks grows richer as years of cooking leave their subtle marks, turning your island into an heirloom. Knife-friendly: absorbs cuts without dulling blades. 4" thick top: substantial, stable, and built for decades of use. 3/8" beveled edges: soften the block’s bold silhouette. Wicker Baskets That Add Charm and Function Each model comes with one, two, or three wicker basket drawers, sliding smoothly for everyday access. Store produce, kitchen towels, or utensils in breathable compartments that keep essentials close while lending rustic texture against the walnut’s refined grain. Generous storage: each basket measures 14"W × 21"L × 8"H. Rustic detail: woven baskets contrast elegantly with walnut’s richness. Practical elegance: functional storage that doubles as design. A Base That Complements the Drama of Walnut Walnut’s bold top deserves a base that frames it beautifully. Choose from nine finishes—whether you prefer a soft neutral or a deep contrasting shade. The 36" height makes the Gathering Block ideal for prep, plating, or presentation, all while anchoring the kitchen with sculptural presence. Finish variety: nine paint and stain options. Sturdy design: strong base with lightly distressed finish. Compact luxury: ideal for kitchens where beauty matters as much as function. Note: Distressed finish—some grain shows through. Color appearance may vary by monitor and lighting. Features & Benefits 4" End-Grain Walnut Top — luxurious, knife-friendly surface. 3/8" Beveled Edges — softened detail along sides and corners.
