Volcanic Oud – Bikol, Philippines

Volcanic Oud – Bikol, Philippines: Born in soil enriched by volcanic ash and nourished by coastal humidity, this oil carries the living signature of its land—raw, humid, and deeply expressive. Origin/ Year: Bikol Peninsula, Philippines 2016 Species: Aquilaria Cumingiana Olfactory Profile: Green Resin • Salty Breeze • Bamboo • Coconut Husk • Creamy Wood • Soft Smoke • Mineralic • Earthy • Quietly Animalic Harvested from the wild jungles of the Bikol Peninsula in the Philippines, this rare oud oil is distilled from Aquilaria cumingiana, a species known for producing uniquely medicinal, mineralic, and slightly green profiles. Born in soil enriched by volcanic ash and nourished by coastal humidity, this oil carries the living signature of its land—raw, humid, and deeply expressive. The opening is green and luminous, bursting with resinous brightness—crushed jungle leaves, wet bamboo, and a mineral sharpness reminiscent of rain hitting warm volcanic earth. A faint salty breeze drifts through, giving the oil an airy, coastal lift. As it evolves, the heart softens into a creamy, lactonic woodiness, revealing delicate tropical nuances—coconut flesh, hay, and soft floral undertones. There’s a smooth sweetness here, never sugary, but gently nectar-like. The base settles into a grounded depth—earth, hint of smoke, and subtle animalic warmth. Hints of charred resin, damp soil, and aged wood linger, leaving behind a refined incense trail that feels both meditative and primal. As you swipe you are met with the smell of ancient sweet oozing resin, dark licorice and incense bubbling away on low heat, bittersweet medicinal herbs, ripe mangoes and dark spices. An oud word having in a collectors arsenal. A rare olfactory experience.
