PRO-M50

Studio-accurate monitoring. Flat frequency response. Built for long sessions. The Rockville PRO-M50 are closed-back, circumaural studio headphones designed for accurate monitoring, mixing, and critical listening. The 40mm Neodymium drivers deliver a flat frequency curve from 10 Hz to 25 kHz — what you hear is what's in the recording, not a consumer-tuned coloration. Swiveling ear cups, interchangeable cushions, a detachable OFC cable, and a hard leather case make these equally at home in the studio or on the road. Advanced Details — Deep Dive Closed-Back Circumaural Design — Why It Matters for Studio Use Closed-back headphones have a sealed rear chamber behind the driver, which serves two purposes: it prevents sound from leaking out of the headphones (bleed) and it blocks ambient noise from entering. This makes the PRO-M50 the correct choice for tracking sessions where a microphone is in use — open-back headphones would allow the backing track to bleed into the mic. The circumaural (over-ear) design means the ear cups fully surround the ear rather than resting on it, creating a better acoustic seal and more comfortable pressure distribution for long sessions. The swiveling cups allow single-ear monitoring — useful for DJs or engineers who need to cue a track while listening to the room. 40mm Neodymium Drivers — Flat Response for Accurate Monitoring Consumer headphones are typically tuned with boosted bass and elevated highs to make music sound exciting and impressive. Studio monitoring headphones are tuned for accuracy — a flat frequency response that reproduces the audio signal without adding coloration. The PRO-M50's 40mm Neodymium drivers are tuned for this flat response across 10 Hz to 25 kHz. Neodymium magnets are stronger per unit of weight than ferrite magnets, allowing for a lighter, more responsive driver that reacts quickly to transients. The result is accurate reproduction of the full frequency spectrum — including the low-frequency extension and high-frequency detail that reveal problems in a mix that consumer headphones would mask. Interchangeable Ear Cushions — Suede vs. Leather Both soft suede and leather ear cushions are included and can be swapped without tools. The two materials have different acoustic and comfort properties. Leather cushions create a tighter seal against the ear, which improves bass response and sound isolation — preferred for tracking and monitoring in louder environments. Suede cushions are softer and more breathable, which reduces heat buildup during long sessions — preferred for extended mixing or listening work where comfort over time is the priority. Having both included means you can choose based on the session type rather than being locked into one option. Detachable OFC Coiled Cable — Why Cable Quality Matters The detachable 51" coiled cable is made from 100% oxygen-free copper (OFC). OFC wire has lower resistance and better conductivity than standard copper wire, which reduces signal loss and noise over the cable run. The coiled design extends to 158" when fully stretched, giving you freedom of movement in a studio environment without a permanently long cable getting in the way at shorter distances. The cable is detachable, which is a significant practical advantage — cable damage is the most common failure point in headphones, and a detachable cable means you can replace it without replacing the headphones. The gold-plated 3.5mm connector and included gold-plated ¼" adapter resist corrosion and maintain a clean electrical connection over time.
