Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2

Debut EVO 2 The next generation The Debut EVO 2 focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design – expert craftsmanship – handmade in the EU. This turntable is built to last you a lifetime!   Satin Wine Red The new colour option.     What's new? Special Platter Bearing Block Pick it MM EVO Counterweight TPE damped & anti -magnetic - The heavy aluminium platter uses a TPE ring inside to dampen unwanted resonances. The massive precise CNC milled alu tonearm bearing block absorbs all unwanted resonances coming from the cartridge. Lively and robust sound - The new Pick it MM EVO cartridge tops off the new Debut EVO 2. We have added a TPE damping ring to the counterweight as on our high-end players.     Take a closer look. Correct Anti-Skating Carbon fiber Premium Bearing Adaptive skating force As the skating force varies between the inner and outer grooves of the vinyl record, our anti-skating mechanism adjusts accordingly. Super stiff and lightweight The new Debut EVO 2 features the a 8,6‘‘ one piece carbon tonearm design. The super stiff, but lightweight tonearm delivers an insane sound quality with a convincing sound stage. Smooth movement The precise CNC milled aluminium bearing offers very low friction and best stability.       The new Pick it MM EVO The new Pick it MM EVO cartridge completes the Debut EVO 2 in all respects. It doesn‘t only complement the lightweight tonearm sound-wise, it also looks stunning on the turntable. Our phono specialists again teamed up with the cartridge experts at Ortofon from Denmark to work on this new cartridge. The cartridge is made from a unique combination of technologies. One of which is Ortofon‘s well known split pole pins. This enables it to have a flat frequency response, which is comparable to MC cartridges.               Backside beauty. We love a clean look, not only on the topside. The new Debut EVO 2 is the first turntable where we included the RCA output box and the power socket into the plinth. The result speaks for itself.             Premium Connection The gold plated RCA sockets on the Debut EVO 2 will always provide the best connection. The included high Connect it Phono E RCA uses quality core materials like a copper conductor for a signal transmission without losses. This cable is a semi-symmetrical type, which means that the shielding is only connected on one end. Therefore, the yellow marked side should always be connected to the receiving end. Due to the RCA output sockets you can always change and upgrade the phono cable. This allows you to upgrade the Debut EVO 2 to our True Balanced technology. To use our True Balanced Connection, your Debut EVO 2 needs to be equipped with an MC cartridge or Pick it PRO Balanced.               Smooth drive. Quality Motor Clean Power Belt Drive 33 / 45 RPM Sophisticated suspension Our high quality AC motor is mounted into a porper suspension system which consistently reduces vibrations. DC/AC power generator The power generator creates a completely clean new sine wave for the motor. This guarantees very clean power which results in enhanced speed stability. Precision belt The belt decouples the motor from the big sub platter. This prevents motor vibrations to travel to the needle Electronic speed change The rocker switch on the bottom of the turntable allows you to change speeds with the push of only a single button.   A throne for your records.     The heavy 1,7 kg die-cast aluminum platter gets reworked and precision balanced in an extra step to obtain a perfect platter. The heavy aluminum platter has a ring made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) on the inside that helps to dampen all resonances and thus minimize wow and flutter. The Debut EVO 2 platter is anti-magnetic, which allows you to use MC cartridges and upgrade to our True Balanced Connection technology. Our separately available Record Puck E provides an extra level of damping and stability, so it is the perfect add-on for your Debut EVO 2. The platter features a notch for the record label and together with our Record Puck E (available separately) the puck’s weight will press your record tightly against the platter.   Why should I upgrade to True Balanced? Balanced audio connections are standard among professional musicians, recording studios, and for live concerts. It is essential to have a stable & interference-free connection as these signals, especially microphone signals, will be highly amplified. Cartridges are balanced signal transducers by nature! Due to the internal wiring of MM cartridges, you'll need to upgrade your turntable with an MC cartridge or our special Pick it PRO Balanced to access the entirety of that balanced signal. Together with our new True Balanced Connection cables you'll be able to access high-end features that were previously only available on the most expensive of phono stages. And the best of all: any Pro-Ject turntable with RCA, miniXLR or 5P outputs can do it!              REVIEW & AWARDS Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 Turntable Review - Read More   "The Evo 2 has passed through the review process ahead of the new Pro B which will be an extra £100 and comes with more toys and the option to run balanced into the relevant hardware. It might be that this represents even better value than the Evo2… but I’m not sure it will. Right now, the Evo2 hits the market at £100 less than the Rega Planar 3 with an Nd3 cartridge (and the Pro-Ject gets electronic speed control at the price and the Rega doesn’t). On the understanding that the balanced functionality of its big brother will not always be something you can realise, the Evo 2 looks and feels like huge value, even when the price increase over the original Evo is taken into account. Considered across its considerable virtues, it has to be seen as the current Best in Class." - Ed Selley    Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 Turntable Review - Read More "Pro-Ject has a winner in the improved updated Debut EVO 2 turntable. It offers outstanding value for money and represents an excellent choice for anyone wanting a great basic vinyl spinner at an affordable price. This stylish turntable package replaces the old Debut Carbon EVO and improves on it in a number of ways – yet only costs a little more than its predecessor. It punches well above its weight and invites comparison with disc spinners costing considerably more. " - James Michael Hughes   Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 review - Read More "Pro-Ject has taken a friendly, capable deck and furnished it with significant upgrades to make it a more sleek and engaging performer. There are those who will prefer Rega’s more mature and precise presentation at this level, but the Evo 2 is a capable and likeable alternative whose lively, fluid delivery and lovely way with voices might just win you over. We can imagine many warming to its sonic presentation, not to mention the variety of colourful finishes available and potential upgrade options. At this level, it’s a solid recommendation.  " - What Hi-Fi?    Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 Review: Sweet Spot for Price V.S Sound Quality? - Read More   "Guitar riffs felt thick and aggressive, yet the turntable’s precision allowed the layered distortion to remain distinct. Drumming was punchy, each hit tight and resonant. The Debut Evo 2 rendered vocals with natural warmth. Pro-Ject’s new Debut model comes highly recommended in this price category. " - Marc Henshall   Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 turntable review - Read More   "Before embarking on this review, I confess that I was slightly sceptical about whether a value belt-driven turntable could manage the surefooted assertiveness I enjoy when listening to my direct-drive Technics deck. I needn’t have worried… The Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 sounded tremendously engaging throughout the review period, and more assertive than I imagined. It was a joy to set up and use, and best of all it always sounded musical. With the widest choice of colour options and finishes available from any turntable maker, the new Debut Evo 2 is one of most attractive and best value turntable packages you can buy right now." - Lee Dunkley   Preview: Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 Turntable - Read More "Is it a path worth taking? We think listeners should see how much they love the sound with the new Pick It MM EVO cartridge first within the context of their existing system before taking the plunge. Pro-Ject’s aforementioned phono pre-amplifiers that offer balanced inputs/outputs are very solid performers at their respective price points but users should remember that the integrated amplifier or line stage on the other end must offer balanced inputs as well to make this a wise upgrade path." - Ian White   Pro-Ject's Debut Evo 2 is a stylish, updated turntable with technology borrowed from Award-winning model - Read More "One of the key features that marked the Debut Carbon Evo out from its competitors had nothing to do with sound – it was the fact that this lifestyle-friendly turntable comes in so many different colour options to suit your listening room and personal tastes. The Debut Evo 2 carries on that tradition with 10 finishes, at no extra cost. This includes six sleek-looking satin paint finishes, including a brand new wine red colour (as seen in the photos above), three high gloss finishes and one real-wood walnut veneer finish.  " - Kashfia Kabir     SPECIFICATIONS Speed 33, 45 (electronic speed change) Drive principle belt drive with electronic speed control Platter 300mm, die cast aluminium platter with TPE damping and felt mat Platter bearing stainless steel axle in bronze bushing Wow & flutter 33: +/-0,16%; 45: +/-0,14% Speed drift 33: +/-0,40%; 45: +/-0,50% Signal to noise 68dB Tonearm 8.6" one-piece carbon tonearm Effective arm length / mass 218,5 mm / 10,0 g Overhang 18.5mm Included accessories 15V DC / 0,8A power supply, dust cover, 7‘‘ single adapter Power consumption 4W / 0W standby Dimensions (WxHxD) 415 x 113 x 320mm Weight 6kg NET
