Private Lessons: Hand Building

These private one on one sessions are 90 minutes in length and include unlimited clay, glaze, tools and firing. Private lessons are the perfect option for a total beginner who might need an introduction to ceramics before signing up for a studio membership or if you have something specific that you want to work on one on one with an instructor.  Please note- if you do not have experience, more than 1 session may be needed if you want to learn all of the basics of Hand building and how to work in a studio setting. These sessions allow you to pay as you go and fit lessons into your own schedule as opposed to being on a fixed class schedule.  Lessons will take place in our main hand building area. You do not need to bring anything to the session as all materials, tools, aprons and towels are provided. You may wish to bring a change of clothing as you may get muddy. Group discounts are available for 2 or more people please see other options in this listing.  Some topics may include: How to work with templates, making slabs, creating coils, surface decorations. How to make specific forms using molds Glazing techniques using underglaze.  Clay will be provided for the purposes of the lesson.  Studio members may return to trim and glaze their pieces.  If you are not a studio member, additional slots must be scheduled for you to complete your pieces.   Re-scheduling requires at least 24 hours advanced notice. Lessons may not be refunded but may be rescheduled. If lessons are purchased for a gift, the recipients must use them within one year from purchase date.
