(Mature Size: 18"T x 24"W) (NEW For 2027!) A striking plant with a distinctive upright form, Primula vialii produces tall, poker-shaped flower spikes in early to midsummer. Tiny florets open from the bottom upward, revealing lilac-pink blooms beneath contrasting red-tipped buds. The vivid contrast between bud and bloom creates an eye-catching display. Plant it among ferns and hostas, or use it en masse in bog gardens and along pond edges. Keep the soil consistently moist. This is especially important in bog gardens and at pond edges, where the plant may receive less shade. Primroses will produce dazzling flowers each spring if they are well-maintained. They should be planted in areas where they will have consistent moisture but their shallow roots will not dry out. Plants will go dormant in hot, dry summer weather unless they are kept well-watered. Though they are fully hardy in the North, primroses need protective insulation such as snow cover in the late winter months so they are not lost to late hard freezes. Hardy to zones 5-9. What's My Zone? Color: Red Buds Open to Lavender Flowers in Early to Mid Summer Size: 12 inches tall by 30 inches wide Type: Hosta Companion Plant Product Sizes: XL 65mm Elle Plug
