Prima Luce

Prima Luce [Pre-mah Lou-chay] means “First Light” in Italian. At 5:30 in the morning, I set off to capture this tuscan home against the sunrise. As the light faintly warmed the land, the sun seemed to illuminate the golden bricks and tiled roof. The rolling hills smoothly dusted with light. What a view to have every morning. This image was captured in the Val D’Orcia area of Tuscany. During his Sophomore year at University (January – June of 2014) Adam DeSerio decided to study abroad in Italy in order to discover the beautiful landscape of Tuscany and his Italian roots. He studied Art History, Creative Writing and the Italian Language. During his 3 day weekends in Italy, he traveled as often as he could, and set out on a 5 month quest to capture the true essence of Italy, not only in his mind but also with his camera. Italy is not just a place… it’s a way of life.
