Rio Premier Gold XP

1/2 SIZE HEAVY EXTRA POWER Primary:           Dry Dropper / Light Indicator Secondary:     Small Dry / Big Dry / Light Streamers “The ultimate multi-purpose line for the angler who fishes subsurface flies just until the hatch pops, then turns to dries for maximum application versatility.  The mid-length head length and half-size heavy design of the Gold XP makes it the most versatile trout taper in our Gold lineup. The added “extra power” relative to the classic RIO Gold makes the Gold XP excel in the widest variety of techniques and casting lengths, offering truly blended performance. Striking a perfect balance between line control at longer distances due to its medium long rear taper and a balanced body for improved turnover of indicators and nymphs, the Gold XP is at home sending dries at distance, heavier rigs though deeper pools, and quick shots from drift boats. Sharing the mid-length 5-foot 6-inch front taper (WF5F) with the RIO Gold cousin, the XP is still perfectly capable of laying down precise presentations with delicacy. Added weight also makes the line more comfortable to fish at shorter distances, typical of wading on smaller waters. Extra Power, Extra Versatility. In addition, this line is built with SlickCast, RIO's proprietary coating technology, creating the slickest, most durable fly lines on the market. Lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line. • Mid-Length Head and Half-Size Heavy weight balances the ability to carry line against quickly loading the rod for shorter casts. • Medium-Long Rear Taper maintains line control for longer presentations, both in the air as well as on the water while mending. • Balanced Body with enough power at the front to turn over a wide range of rigs while enough power at the back to load rods more deeply for short to mid-length shots. • Mid-Length Front Taper for maximum versatility, capable of turning over heavier rigs on shorter leaders powerfully or tiny dry flies on long leaders with finesse.
